@beza1e1:
Not too familiar with Notepad, but vim has quite some support for working with multiple files. Have a look at what buffers can do for you. Also, have a look at the cool things scripts like these can do with buffers:
http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=1664
Think not lowly of the almighty vim, it can do pretty much everything stated in this article, and a lot more :)

Here are some more that I want in my editor:

Integrated debugger support. If you have a debugger available, why would you want to use it from anywhere else?

Integrated interactive mode, for languages that support one. Being able to select a chunk of code and shoot it to interactive mode is way useful.

Integrated command-line shell. Why switch applications for simple shell tasks when you can do them directly inside your editor?

Some of those features I hadn't heard of before, and they sounded great. Does anyone know of a PHP editor, or an editor that can be extended to use PHP, with all of those features?

I'd also add that the editor should spot patterns in what you're typing, so that it can both predict, and suggest replacements.

When it offers multiple choices in a pop-up menu, and you select one choice, that choice should gravitate towards the top (or wherever the mouse cursor is). You should be able to remove choices that aren't relevant to you.

Your editor should allow to programmatically manipulate code.
